Open Question: downloading videos where the site blocks downloading?

I use RealPlayer (the free version) to download videos from a range of sites. There are some sites where its download doesn't work. For example, when i right click for download, it creates an .swf file of about 40k size, and a .meta file of about 40k size. The videos are typically 20 minutes so i know those download files won't work, so I'm assuming the sites have programmed the site to prevent downloading. Anybody know of any workaround, or maybe another video software that can handle those sites? Thanks for you help! more

I have a website and have created several video's to showcase the work our company has done. However, the software we use to build and manage our website does not allow us to upload and make playable to videos that we have created. Does anybody know of a website or software that we can upload (website) or download (software) our videos and then put an embeded link or what not so we place on our site. Money is tight so something free or cheep would be nice. Now before you suggest youtube as I have tried that, we do use songs (Such as Just Dance by Lady GaGa) to show case the video a little more. We can't upload on youtube because we don't own the rights to the song, even though we give credit to the song and artist in the video and we purchased it from iTunes. I know there is more to the copyright of all of it then what I mentioned, just pointing out my side as I feel we should be able to. Anyways, any help or suggestions or ideas would be great! Open Question: How can I convert video files on a CD created on a Mac so that I can edit them on a PC?

Please help me! Someone I know sent me a CD with video files on it, and I'd like to use them to edit and make a movie with. I think my friend has an Apple computer, though, and he didn't think of converting the files so that my PC can play them. When I look at the files on my computer, my computer can't recognize a file type - it just says "File". Because of this, I can't import them into my video editor, and I can't find a video conversion software that will work. Does anyone have any ideas? Sorry if I wasn't clear earlier. Open Question: Hey, I have a problem with Windows Movie Maker, I can't publish the video.?

So i have a bunch of converted WMV files which i have edited and made into a video. When i tried to publish the video to my computer it won't work. The publishing process starts and then cuts off and says that "This problem was caused by iac25_32.ax, which was created by Intel Corporation. iac25_32.ax is a codec" I clicked the links but i'm not even sure if i can download something? Voting Question: My Action Replay can't add new games or codes, apparently is updated, and the codes do not work?

Hello people, I have obtained my action replay, so I am kind of new on it, and I have tried to create new pokemon with it. I have read the instructions and I am using pokesav. However I found the fucking surprise that when I tried to paste the code when I click right button the option was not avilable. In fact, when I click right button in my codelists the only options avilable are: copy, paste, new codelist, create a copy and delete, and I see in the videos that the options that appear are add new game and others else, I read that I probably need to update it but when I click update software it says: No new products updates are available now, so I guess it is updated. Finally desesperated I made a file in pokesav, then I took it with the mouse to the nintendo DS output and it apparently worked. So when I was running the action replay in the DS I found the "pokesav file (also I can't rename it or delete it in the computer)" and ran my game. I recorded some videos with the Samsung cam mx20b camera to an sd card. When I put the sd card into my computer and try to play the videos it says "The file does not have a program associated with it to preform this action. Create an association in the folder options control menu." I did this but it still didn't play so I right clicked it, went to open with and selected plenty of video playing softwares. All of them only played the audio and my computer wasn't frozen or anything. Also, windows movie maker wont recognize these files. Resolved Question: windows XP showing it as NT? and showing drivers without installing them?

i have windows XP professional. but it shows NT on few games and softwares. i have checked by right clicking on my computer it shows XP professional version 2002 service pack 2, v.2096 also when i format my HDD and reinstall XP, after installing XP [but not drivers of chipset, mboard sound etc.] it shows drives installed on dxdiag [should show video card, mboard , BIOS etc as N/A but shows correct version of drivers and company which actually shown when drivers are installed] but motherboard CD autorun shows white on its list of drivers [white means not installed] . also everything works fine without installing these drivers after installing XP. and also i am unable to install DirectX 9c. when i try to install, the installation finishes in a sec and shows completed. by checking on dxdiag and properties [also in most wanted installation] , it shows direct X 9b. i downloaded direct X 10 for xp and installed, now it shows direct x 10 on dxdiag but shows 9 [only 9 not 9.0c or 9b] on display properties. nfs most wanted still not running. shows an error with send error report and dont send tabs. i have latest drivers. direct X 9c was installed and NFS most wanted was running fine on the same system with XP unlimited SP2. i have 480MB RAM celeron D 2.4 GHz 32MB S3 pro savage onboard card plz dont suggest me to upgrade or my video card is not capable of handling coz the game and directX 9c was running fine on XP unlimited. it was creating no prob. more

Resolved Question: DVD video out of sync?

I created a DVD by recording it using a VideoMate video capture card to a .mpg file and then using Adobe Encore CS4 I created the DVD with a menu and chapters. When I burnt it to a DVD I tried it on 2 DVD players and 4 different computers and the video was out of sync and looked like a bad video tape. I tried again but instead I used Adobe Premiere Elements 7 and when I burnt it to a DVD it had the same effect. My last attempt was to, instead of burning it to a DVD, I created a DVD folder and burnt it using another software (imgBurn and Roxio). No change. Could anyone please advise? more

Hey, I'm looking for a software (Free or paid) to create a simple virtual yearbook that can play played from any DVD Player. The yearbook would contain pictures (slide shows) and videos. Ok, so I just bought a JVC Everio HDD. It's fantastic so far. I love the sounds and video quality. However, the video editing software is irritating, slow, and disappointing. I'm debating on buying a separate editing program to create my Youtube videos. I know that Window's Movie Maker is the most common, is this easy to use? Do ppl like it? If not, is there something else you could recommend? My next concern is being able to actually use my files on these programs. I've read a few things about having to change the file types from .mop to .mpg (or some sequence of letters), if any of you can educate me on this, I am grateful. I want to create a scouting highlight video of a specific player (lacrosse, soccer, basketball). I am looking for good, affordable software where I can pause a frame, add a graphic like a circle that circles the player or even better an effect where the highlighted area stays bright and the rest of the frame gets a little darker, then have the video run again. There would be a pause at the start of each play to point out which player you should be watching OR some way to continue to highlight through the play. I have to do a creative project on my greek goddess, Hera. I'm not very artistic so I don't want to do a model of a Greek/Roman monument or a drawing of a scene from the Odyssey or the Iliad. I was thinking about something more writing or computer-related [please don't suggest doing a written paper, because that was already the first part of the assignment]. So I need creative ideas! I was thinking about going with a powerpoint presentation but it's going to be really common and boring... Please, tell me that there is an expert out there on this stuff. I have several questions on codecs and the way they may interact. I installed this small program called "InstalledCodec" from this link: http://media-geek.com/index.php?option=com_myblog&show=Managing-Codecs-Helpful-Utilities.html&Itemid=249 In the past I've had problems with newly installed codecs creating chaos (when they take the place of the old ones). Since then, I've reformatted the hard drive and re-installed the operating system to fix things back to normal. (Whew! that was doing it the hard way.) I ran this program called "InstalledCodec" and it shows that there are about 548 (audio/video) codecs installed on my computer. InstalledCodec also allows you to Disable/Enable items. These are my questions about the way codecs work: A. When a new (A/V) codec is installed, does the old one get deleted, or is the old one still there, but simply in an inactive state ? B. In some cases when new codecs are installed, do both the old and new codecs try to run at the same time, or is software smart enough to only pick one at a time? C. If I disable a recently added codec, will the old one automatically recover and take over? D. I was looking for some audio converter that converts AC3 (audio) into something more familiar like WAV or MP3. Is there something out there that does it? ( I tried Magic Video Converter and it crashed on the this task, whereas it works fine on everything else. ) E. Is there a program that backs up your codecs (into a file), and then later on gives you the option of restoring that, sort of like the way a registry backup works? This subject is quite complex to me, and obviously codecs are complex. :) more

I am starting an online publication, which may eventually turn into print. I have tried a million and one times to put the videos I record using my Finepix Z20fd into Windows Movie Maker so I can create a tutorial which I want to put on YouTube. I get the videos on to the computer and when I go to play them they only play in Quicktime. I have a brand new Toshiba laptop with vista on it. In my camera I a using a SanDisk 8gb SDHC card. Voting Question: How can I create a graphic representation of dancing moves taken from a video?

For example, if I'd wanted to show just the footwork of a dance, or the punches in pro boxing? Is there a software that would allow me to work "over" a movie clip to create abstract colorblock representations of the movements, that can in turn be "played" like a movie without the original clip? Basically, I want to "draw" over a movie clip in real time, and then edit the video in some way to create a visual "mapping". There must be software / applications that do that!
