Open Question: Lawyers, paralegals, can anyone explain the RICO act?

Now if you can, can you explain why it hasn't been applied to the Democratic National Party and to the biggest crime syndicate currently opperating in the United States, the *OCS? In fact, where is our law enforcement organizations? Federal are all corrupt from the top down. Same with the SCOTUS. It seems to me it is up to the 50 States or the very few not yet corrupt members of the House and Senate to remedy this. Evidence: Illegal abuse of posecution took out Ted Stevens Alaska. All charges dropped after he resigned. Now Sarah Palin, who could no longer financially fight off the unwarrented constant legal attacks. Norm Coleman, drowned by illegal votes from the dead, fictional votes of more people than exist. Fictional ballots by none other than ACORN a part of the OCS. Ballots that just happen to be riding around in someones trunk and other irregularities. Allowed by an OCS plant as the Secretary of State of Minnesota. Now an illegal Al Franken. A cancer cell before it even has resided in Washington DC. Christine Gregery, Governor of Washington State. Elected by thousands of votes having the same physical address. Elected by the homeless and more chicanery and illegal activities of a nature of the OCS. Tom Delay of Texas. Another Republican victum of malicious prosecution by a Democrat prosecutor. No valid charges, but it was enough to force another Republican out of office. I almost forgot about the "foot tapper". There was another prosecution in which there was no evidence and no conviction. Barry Soetoro a/k/a BHO as he began his career in Chicago as did such other well known criminals as Al Capone, Machine Gun Kelly and others. He began his illegal political activity in 1996 using his ACORN contacts to eliminate any possible competition for seats he wished to occupy. All of this is available with Google searches by the way. Where are the patroits? Where are those who took the oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies foreign and domestic? Everyone in the civilized world knows BHO was born in Kenya, except Americans. Why is that only two lawyers and one Ambassidor know the law enough to know that regardless of his actual birth place, he does not meet the "natural born citizen" clause of Article Two, Section One of the Constitution? Or even know the definition of "natural born citizen" as it appears in the Constitution? Where are the enforcers of law? *obama crime syndicate http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/05/29/obamas.first.campaign/index.html http://www.therightsideoflife.com/?p=6216 http://usjf.net/archives/1224 http://americangrandjury.org/grand-jury-evidence-rules-indictments Too bad you skipped school when they were teaching the other children how to read Joe. Open Question: Need Help! Ins. ran out. Gov. not helping! Power port needs to be removed!?

I was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma back in January and, as of April, I was told that they found no more signs of cancer, but they gave me 2 more chemo treatments just in case making it 6 in total. Well, because of my cancer, I haven't been able to work since November. Back when I was diagnosed, they installed a power port into my chest, which basically helps you get the chemo treatment without blowing out the veins in your arms. This device is a tube that is inserted surgically just under the skin and runs a tube straight to my heart. When all this started, my husband had a great job with great medical benefits. Unfortunately, he got laid off about 3 months ago and our health insurance ran out in June. I couldn't have the port taken out in June while we had insurance because I still needed my last chemo treatment. As we speak, we absolutely have no income. My Dad is paying our rent, but that's the best he can do and it's even starting to cause a strain on his funds. He can't afford the surgery to have this power port removed, but it either needs to be flushed every 6 weeks or be totally removed. We have applied for government assistance, but have been turned down across the board. Evidently, I can't prove that I'm an American citizen because my birth certificate got lost as we made an emergency move from a 2nd story apartment to a first floor apartment...I was in the hospital the week we moved and alot of things got displaced. A ton of stuff got thrown out or relocated and I can't find my birth certificate anywhere. I presented the government with my driver's license, voter's registration card, social security card, my last pay stub, and utility bills in my name, but that wasn't enough to prove to them that I'm an American citizen because I didn't have a birth certificate, military ID, or a passport, even though I was born in the state of Michigan. Therefore, they have denied me any support, including health coverage. My husband, who has been looking non-stop, can't find any work, but they have been messing him over for unemployment benefits because they needed a document from his job stating he had become unemployed. We have jumped thru hoops trying to get this paperwork. My Dad is applying for a new copy of my birth certificate in Michigan, but that's going to take 6-8 weeks. My husband has contacted his former employer to get the lay-off notice and we finally received it, but now our state government (Arizona) has shut down almost all government offices because they are going thru a budget crisis and the damn politicians can't agree on a new state budget! So even with all the paperwork, we can't even present it to them! At this point, once again, we have absolutely NO income! We are living off our tax return and milking it for every penny. It's running out! I have to get this port taken out of my chest because I can't afford to get it flushed and it could cause an infection leading straight to my heart! My family is tapped out...we're tapped out...does anyone know of any institutions or someone who will donate to help me get this removed? Technically, I no longer have cancer, so the American Cancer Society won't be able to help. Please, I need some financial help and don't know where to get it. This could be a life-threatening situation. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  more

Open Question: Question About Birth Control.?

I'm supposed to be leaving for vacation on July 20th through the 26th i've put alot of money into this trip and unfortunately i'm supposed to get my period this week, the pills are an every 4 week thing the birth control is called Lessina. I was thinking that i could flip flop my weeks. If i buy another set of pills and take the regular ones during that week and not the sugar pills will i not get my period? Then the week i come home, the last week in July which would be the 5th week, i will take the sugar pills and get it? Correct? Has anyone tried this, has it worked? I plan on asking my doctor later in the week but its the 4th so no one is in the office. I just want some feedback before i talk to my doctor.  more

Open Question: IUI,baseline ultrasound, and birth control?

I am in the final stages of my IUI treatment and have a few questions. (You know how it is, you get on the phone with the dr's office and your mind goes blank and you cant remember why you called... until you hang up the phone.) What is a baseline ultrasound? What is my dr looking for when she does this? How long after the baseline ultrasound will I be inseminated? and.... why did she put me on birth control? I asked... and she answered, and then I got overwhelmed and my mind went on overdrive, and now I dont understand what she said. Something to the effect of " to calm everything down." and sometimes about timing.... I will be on the pill from today 07/04/2009 to 07/25/2009. Any help is appreciated.  more

Open Question: PA moms - how long for birth certificate...?

I live in Pennsylvania and gave birth to my daughter a month ago. At the hospital I filled out a paper to be sent in for her SSN and I also filled out a paper for her birth certificate. The hospital took both forms from me when I was finished. I received her SSN last week but no birth certificate yet. My sister said she waited about 3 months for her daughter's but it never arrived so she finally ended up calling the state office of vital records to get one. I was just wondering how long it normally takes for the birth certificate to arrive because I'm moving in a few weeks and I listed my current address on the paperwork. I'm pretty sure they won't forward things like that and I'm worried about it getting lost in the mail.  more

Open Question: Very painful & heay period..new to birth control..?

Alright, I didn't have my period since April 14th & now I just got two days ago. It's really super heavy & painful. Very uncomfortable. My doctor started me on birth control & told me to take it the Sunday after my period starts. I've never been on birth control before so I'm not really sure how it works.. but if I start my pills now instead of Sunday will it slow my period down? Can I even do that? I normally would ask my doctor these questions, but I wasn't even in the office when they prescribed it, I was on the phone with the nurse. Soo.. do I have to deal with this period? Or if I take the pills early will it stop it? My period is normally very regular. Like clockwork, I could time it down the the hour. Just these past few months I was a little off for some reason. I was prescribed birth control to prevent pregnancy, not to regulate my period.  more

Resolved Question: If you have had a hospital birth in the past 10 years in the US....?

I'm doing research for a paper and if you had a vaginal birth in a "traditional delivery room" in the past 10 years, would you please post the name of the hospital? Or you can email me (see my profile page). When I refer to "traditional delivery room", I mean the ones that are the "sterile-looking, blue or green tiled walls" with a "delivery table" (like exam table in a doctor's office). Also, this would be a room you were moved to after laboring in a separate room and you were moved after you had began to push or just prior to pushing. I am trying to find how many hospitals in the US and Canada still have the archaic room set-ups. Thank you so much for your responses. These old rooms are pretty rare, but there are still current childbirth books on the market (US and Canada) that have these rooms listed as still being the most common for delivery. The hospital my children were born in have had LDRP rooms since the late 1980's and the other hospitals in the midwest city I live in (and the surrounding areas) have all had LDR rooms since the early 1990's, so I'm surprised this throwback to the 1960's is still around, but according to some current pregnancy books, these "dinosaurs" are still out there.  more

Open Question: Is this a legitimate reason to leave someone?

Okay here's the story. I'm 20, pregnant, still living with my parents while I go to college and work. He is 25, jobless, carless, and lives with his parents ever since he lost everything after being laid off in early 08. We've been together for 3 years and I love him dearly, but now that a baby has been introduced into the equation things are starting to change. I can no longer wait around for him to try and find another job and a car when it's becoming clearer to me he's not really trying. Like I said we love each other but I need more than love from him now. How can he be a part of my baby's life when he has no way to even support himself, much less another human being? He has no insurance but in the past year has never once walked into a Medicaid office to try and fix it. If, because of his refusal to seriously look for a job and seriously save money, I have to give birth to that baby alone because he can't drive to the hospital to be there with me, I know I'll never forgive him. Does it make me a bad person that I'm thinking if he doesn't step up and be a man, I'm going to start looking for someone who will? Don't flame me, please, I'm really confused about this.  more

Resolved Question: im a little lost right now, advice needed.?

hi, we went to work yesterday and there was a kitten under a truck, she refused to come out, my partner left a drink of water for her, she was still there when we left work, we were about to get her to at least let her stay with us until we found her owner but she ran away. this morning she was back in the same place, this time, my partner managed to hold her, he put her into a box and took her into our work. our boss said she could stay in an office, got her water, and i got her some kitten food in my lunch break. when i got back from getting food my partner told me she had given birth, there was only one kitten born and it was still born. the kitten we found is now at home with me, my boss let me go early so i could get her home and dry (there was a storm last night) she is now sleeping, she is eating fine. i have an appointment for her to see the vet tomorrow, and i put an ad up in the local shop letting people know we found her. i have never had a cat before so what is the best way to keep her happy until she gets to the vet? whenever i leave the room she cries until i come back. she is around 5-6 months old and it looks as though she hasnt been fed properly as she is very thin and small. im just worried as she gave birth, can i do anything more than i have already? thank you..  more

Open Question: How do people feel about this news article about illegals and babies born in the USA?

California is closer to ending illegal "Anchor Baby" births http://www.examiner.com/x-10317-San-Diego-County-Political-Buzz-Examiner~y2009m7d1-California-is-closer-to-ending-illegal-Anchor-Baby-births San Diego – Californians are one step closer to ending the “Anchor Baby” births by illegals throughout the state. In an effort to close ever-expanding social service programs the California Taxpayer Protection Act of 2010, Initiative 09-0010 has begun the signature process. The Attorney General of California released the last bit of paperwork required to get the “birth tourism” legislation moving forward. Petitioners must now collect approximately 450,000 California registered voter signatures. At a press conference in front of the City Hall Administration building, Ted Hilton- author of the bill, Bill Morrow-retired California State Senator, Peter Nunez-former United States Attorney and Assistant Secretary of the Treasury for Enforcement joined together to inform the residents of California to take the immigration issue into their own hands. This bill is for “real world citizens,” Morrow said. “The people of California have an opportunity to curb the illegal immigration. Many in California may not have seen the grass lately, but we’ve been seeding our roots.” According to the Attorney General for the state of California, who prepares the title and summary, the state would deny birth certificates to children born to undocumented parents unless the mother provides a fingerprint and other information to be given to the federal authorities. Finally, the initiative eliminates benefits for children in child-only CalWORKS cases which are not mandated by federal law. For those who want reassurance, the public benefit restrictions in this initiative have already passed and are on the books in five states, Colorado, Georgia, Idaho, Oklahoma and Arizona. The California ballot initiative is closely worded to the law on the books in Oklahoma, says Hilton. Many in California believe the federal government has dropped the immigration ball over the last 40 years. “In Washington D.C. they have a few nicknames; reform is code word for amnesty,” Nunez explained. He goes on to say that if Americans allow another amnesty wave to come ashore a new wave of immigrants will head to America – this time the number could be 40 million. Again Nunez says, “It’s time for the states residents to take care of the illegal immigration problem, the federal, state and local governments have failed.” As far as immigration containment issues there are three areas that need to be addressed; Border security, workforce enforcement and doling out of public benefits. This ballot initiative addresses the latter, benefits. The crux of this issue is the “birth tourism.” The state currently pays $400 million per year in ‘normal childbirth,’ according to the state of California Department Health’s latest records. “This doesn’t include the cost of premature births which the Center for Disease Control estimates as 12 percent of all births. The costs to taxpayers for these births and those born with disabilities are over $1 billion more annually,” Hilton said. According to California State Attorney General office, the initiative would save the taxpayers around $1 billion annually from eliminating the child-only CalWORKS program. Morrow believes the number is much higher. “If you add the costs for ending public benefits, the state will save much more than $1 billion per year.” Another concerned group that has come out and supports the 2010 ballot initiative are African-Americans. Ted Hayes who recently ran for congress against Maxine Waters in Los Angeles said, “American black men will stop the birth tourism problem connected to the 14th Amendment.” “That law was meant for West African slaves, not Latinos crossing the border illegally,” Hayes firmly stated. “The Latinos are taking money from the sweat from our backs; we intend to take it back.” Nunez concurs, “The 14th Amendment was a way for this country to overcome slavery. Our current national policy doesn’t even allow diplomats in this country to gain citizenship through birth.” Hayes admits it’s time African-Americans to start fighting for their state and country. “The Latinos want to make this about race. I’ll make this about race. The sponsors of this bill are not racists, they’re Americans and we stand with them.” *** Backed up by fact, Hilton notes in 1987 California’s teenage birth rate was below the national average. One short year later, pre-natal care commenced for illegal aliens. “Four years later that caused the state’s teenage birth rate to grow to twice the national average and the highest of any state,” says Hilton. According to the State of California, Department of Public Health’s latest birth records show there were 562,157 live births. A staggering 293,276 were born to a mother of Hispanic background. “The state estimates  more

Resolved Question: 6 Wks 3 day pregnant and over 116000 hgc level? Does anyone have successful healthy preg with this values?

Here I am again, got a blood test and my hcg level on Monday 5, 6 wk were 116,000 and change, progesterone 28. Went to the hospital did a special sonogram , after the doctor office only saw a gestational sac and no baby or yolk sac, but Thanks to GOD, the hospital U/S picked up my baby with yolk, heartbeat and all. The u/s said that the baby is 6 weeks 3 days..the doctor said I shouldn't worry about the high hcg..but I do worry...because I see they are really high! Also on june 2nd took a blood pregnancy test and was negative..so the dates are pretty accurate from the sonogram measurament. My question is, Is there anyone that had a successfull healthy birth with initially really high hcg..also they don't see twins..sonogram only showed one baby. To Happy062: Congratulations to you too. I was worry because I heard that high hcg is related to crhomosome diseases..but my doctor told me not to worry about it. To: Mouse_72: My doctor told me the same thing. He said it might have been a twin that got reassorbed! He also told me to do another scan in 2 weeks and see if there is a twin hiden. What are the chances of not seeing a twin the first time with that powerful u/s? To BabyAshely: Contrats to you too. I had first c-section 21 months ago my son was born, than another c-section in early february my daugther was born. Both c-section were really good experiences. Well I would have wanted a natural birth but the first one was an emergency and the second one I was on bed rest for 3 months and had hypertension so they need to do a c-section. But all is well with both of them. Praise God. Congrats to you again..  more

Voting Question: Republicans, if I was running for public office would you consider voting for me?

I am a democrat, but a moderate, not a liberal. Below are issues where i either partially or fully agree with the republicans. Gun Control: While I believe that guns should be kept out of the hands of dangerous criminals, I support the second amendment. Defend your home, go out and hunt, just be safe. I believe it is unnecessarily to tax guns and ammunition on top of the already existing state sales tax. Abortion: More pro life than pro choice. I do not believe that it should be outlawed fully, but believe that after the first few weeks, it should be outlawed due to the fact that the fetus is now conscious and feels the pain of the abortion. At this stage, it should be done only to save the life of the mother. Also, abortion should not be a free service, it should be a service you pay for, unless it is a case of rape, incest, or if the mother would die in child birth. This eliminates abortion as birth control and creates revenue for the government. Affirmative action: Harmful to true equality. Obama is wrong to support it. Military: Raise the salaries of our heroes and increase funding to troops in Afghanistan. Catching Bin Laden is a top priority. This is something I praise Obama for doing. Economy/stimulus money: Should be going specifically to education, tax cuts, pay raises for military personal, and public works projects for green energy jobs. Taxes: I will not now, nor will I ever support trickle down economics, Reaganomics etc. However, I would lower taxes on the wealthy. With trickle down, the working class cannot invest in themselves because they pick up the burden of the top five percent not paying taxes. However, if the rich are taxed at the high rate they are now, it is difficult for these companies to reinvest in new jobs. There can be a balance here. The wealthy would pay on no more than five percent of their income, and by wealthy I mean those making 150'000 plus a year. I would give tax credits to small businesses who offer health benefits to employees, and per employee hired. A low tax rate, combined with cutting wasteful spending will fund the stimulus money and may lead to a budget surplus. Immigration: If they get a visa, work for equal wages in the competitive market, they are welcome in my book. This is the land of opportunity. But, if they hop the fence and take American jobs for half pay, immediate deportation. No amnesty, and increase border patrol funding. An immigrant should not be eligible for workers compensation if they are not legal residents. I consider myself a moderate, blue dog democrat. A JFK democrat and Teddy Roosevelt progressive. I voted for Obama and generally approve of him, but do think there are some things he has done wrong. I can't see myself voting against him in 2012. Again, I am a democrat, just not a liberal. I voted for Bill Richardson in the NH primary. Above are the issues where I either partially or fully agree with the republicans. I support the democrats on all other issues, such as Iraq withdrawal, same sex marriage, health care reform, stem cell research, anti-torture, medicaid and medicare, and welfare (as long as it is temporary for laid off workers and not a way of life) Resistance, sorry, forgot your energy question. I support Nuclear energy, wind energy, solar energy and clean coal. Resistance: I support free trade with free countries. Communist countries, such as China, Cuba, North Korea, etc should not be dealt with. However, companies that ship jobs overseas would not be eligible for tax cuts. As far as the drug war, all illegal drugs would stay illegal, except for medical Marijuana.  more

Voting Question: Sex and birth control after giving birth?

I'll be going in for my 6 week check-up at the end of July, and I really want to get the Mirena birth control. Is this something I would tell my doctor at the appointment and they would do it that day in the office, or would they have to set up another appointment to put it in? Also, is Mirena effective immediately or do you have to use a back-up method for a certain amount of time like you do with the pill? I'm only two weeks post partum now and I don't plan on having sex until I have my follow-up appointment, but I'm really nervous about it! I want to, but I'm scared of getting pregnant again [I know you're really fertile right after having a baby] and I'm scared it's going to hurt! How long did you wait to have sex after giving birth and was it painful? How long did it take before sex wasn't painful? [I had a normal vaginal delivery, only had a tiny tear and had to get 2 stitches.]  more

Resolved Question: switching formulas at 10 months & now baby throws up!?

My son has been on Similac Advanced since birth. To make a long story short, hubby lost his job and I had to apply for WIC which only gives Enfamil. My son is 10 months (almost 11) and he's been on the Enfamil for like 2 weeks now. We transitioned him slowly and had no problems but now every day he throws up a little formula. It's not a lot and it's not projectiled, so should I be concerned? Anything I can do to ease it for him? (I have tried gentleease a while back and that was no good for him either). The nutrionist at the WIC office said he should be ok if we transitioned him, and if needed we could switch. Since he's only got a little over a month to go on formula, should I bother? He eats solids....but still needs to be on formula til hes a year old  more

Resolved Question: Sally Kern (R-OK) has introduced the Oklahoma Citizen’s Proclamation for Morality. Is she completely insane?

The bill blames everyone but the people responsible. Here's a snippet. WHEREAS, we believe our economic woes are consequences of our greater national moral crisis; and WHEREAS, this nation has become a world leader in promoting abortion, pornography, same sex marriage, sex trafficking, divorce, illegitimate births, child abuse, and many other forms of debauchery; and WHEREAS, alarmed that the Government of the United States of America is forsaking the rich Christian heritage upon which this nation was built; and WHEREAS, grieved that the Office of the president of these United States has refused to uphold the long held tradition of past presidents in giving recognition to our National Day of Prayer; and WHEREAS, deeply disturbed that the Office of the president of these United States disregards the biblical admonitions to live clean and pure lives by proclaiming an entire month to an immoral behavior; http://washingtonindependent.com/49173/oklahoma-republicans-ready-to-blame-the-recession-on-debauchery  more

Voting Question: Detecting Cervical Cancer during Pregnancy?

Hello all, my Dr. sent me a letter at the begining of June telling me that I had an abnormal pap and I would need to do my follow up with a GYN. which works for the same Dr. office. First off, they gave me an appointment a whole month and a half away which is July 27th. I am wondering I have been going to the dr. regular especially since the birth of my child. She will be a year old on July 26th. Is it possible that during pregnancy dr.'s can detect cervical cancer or precanceours cells.. I am thinking if something is wrong they should have detected it during my pregnancy..  more

Voting Question: Birth Control Pills - side effects?

I recently started taking the pill again from Planned Parenthood. I did it for three months like 2 years ago and I had some weird side effects. I had bumps all up my legs, but that's all I remember. I started going to my dr's office for pills after that and everything was fine. Then about 5 months, my dr's appt kept rescheduling and I ended up going back to P.P for pills. My feet just started to swell and im starting to get bumps again. I am also having weird chest pains that I can't explain. Its only on my right side though. And im not sure why but my vision has been slighty more blurry than normal. Has anyone had any of these symptoms or know anything about this? Thank you in advance.  more

Voting Question: Four little babies in need of names?

I work for an adoption starter agency (it's where newborn babies of teenage parents who didn't want there baby goes). Some teens don't like the attachment of naming there children, so that's our job along with taking care of them until a big adoption company adopts them or they are welcomed into foster homes. Today was the busiest day ever. Usually we get four or five babies a month... today we had four babies welcomed to our ''home''. None of them were named previously & they are all about three-four days old already & they need names! There are three girls & a boy. We would like opinions from you all on what to name them, i'll describe each child as they look now & you can give us a first & middle name. The first baby is half black half white. She's a girl with curly black hair & dark eyes. The second baby girl is oriental & white. Basically she looks like a typical oriental chinese baby. Brown eyes, black hair (based by the hair she has) The third baby girl has a head full of brownish-black hair, with eyes that will surely be bright blue anyday now. She's very pale. The last is a little teeny mexican boy. Dark hair & eyes. We would like names that are not to eccentric, so if they are adopted they can grow up having normal lives. They need ''adoptable'' names. Something a family can grow with by adopting these children. Your help is so so so appreciated. Our office is busy, we've never had this many babies coming to our ''home'' ever! Getting the children safely home from the hospital is our priority... but they need names first for birth certificates. Thanks, from all of us here. It's a sad job, but happy because most of the time they are adopted quick, because they are so little. And usually the parents who adopt then couldn't have there own children & so it's happy too :) My daughter has Sims 2 or 3, I don't remember. She does steal My iPhone & gets on the Internet, she always likes asking questions on here :)  more

Resolved Question: Girls, kind of a personal question?

I just got the Mirena birth control put in by my doctor, the one that lasts for 5 years. Anywho, I am on my period and was wondering...can you use tampons after just having it put in? I put a tampon on and I kind of felt something up there and it hurt a little. A little personal, I know, but my docs office is closed already so I can't ask him. Thanks for your answers!  more

Resolved Question: Traveling internationally with JUST a passport, no VISA, back to your country?

Good morning everyone! The woman that cleans my husband's office, work permit expired about three weeks ago. She is from Mexico. She had a three year work Visa. My husband told her about it being expired and she needed to bring in a renewed one and she said she was actually going back to Mexico because she had some pretty hard times here recently. She was a VERy sweet girl and going to English class and such a super nice person to be around. She is 24 and she was living with her boyfriend. She told my husband and I that her boyfriend had found a picture of her and some old friends from Mexico and became very jealous and struck her and even destroyed some of her belongings. He wrecked their apartment in the processes. He is now missing. She said she can't find any of her stuff. Her birth certificate, her passport which holds her Visa (Even though it expired three weeks ago) and so on. All she has, is what she had on her... A library card, an expired state ID, and her little Work permit card that is now expired as of three weeks ago. :( She said she just wants to go back to Mexico and leave all this behind her. Her parents do well financially in Mexico and I'm sure she'll be fine. So here is my question. Her mother sent her, her Birth certificate via UPS overnight and she went to the local Mexican Consulate and had a new Mexican passport made up. It does not have the VIsa of course in it. The Mexican Passport is ONLY the passport it's self with no Visa's or anything, just her photo and information. She came called me and asked if I would be willing to help her purchase an internationally flight with her visa/debit card back to Mexico. She can not get a direct flight from NC to Mexico. So she will be layed over in Atlanta. Will she be able to fly internationally with JUST a Mexican passport from the US to Mexico with layovers? Does anyone have any ideas??  more

Resolved Question: GIRLS GET TO KNOW YOUR BODY!!!?

I have a few things to say...I read some of the questions and it seems to me that majority of the girls out there who want to have sex don't really know much about their own bodies. Here is a small guide line...I would like to read some comments about it too. 1) You can still have a period and be pregnant. 2) you can get pregnant even while on Birth Control Pills. 3) Remember Condoms are not 100% accurate. They can break and you can get pregnant. It happened to me. 4) After sex you will/can bleed. depending on how hard the sex was. 5) If you have a discharge and you never had it before...run to the doc's office and get checked out. 6)REMEMBER THERE IS STD's, PREGNANCIES, AND AIDS OUT THERE... 7) best way to "stay clean" is not to have sex. 8) Know your body, before you let someone else explore it, it can save your life in the future. last one: Diseases are always hidden, you can't tell if someone has something by just looking. Take this as advice from a person who has seen it all...miscarriages, and getting Clementia from the husband...good luck girls and stay save.  more

Voting Question: Period problems.....?

I'm in college and my only option for a doctor/gyno is the university medical center on campus (off campus doctors offices won't see a university student without a referral from the campus clinic). I went to the women's clinic because of problems during my period. I get extremely exhausted to the point where it takes a LOT of effort to function (which sucks for school and makes studying a pain), I have back and upper leg pain (kind of muscle aches.... like how it feels when you have pulled muscles), I have blood clots during the first few days that range in size from a dime to silver dollar size. I also feel like my period is unusually heavy in the beginning, I have to wake up in the middle of the night to change my pad or I'll wake up with a gross mess. I get extremely cranky and one wrong thing and I can be in tears. This has been happening for the last few years with all of these symptoms getting increasingly worse. The one good thing about my periods is that they've always been like clockwork coming at exactly when I think they will lasting the exact number of days I expect. I told the University clinic nurse all of this information. They immediately ask me how many sexual partners I've had in my life, the age I lost my virginity, the last time I had sex and if I could possibly be pregnant. Then when the doctor came in I told them that I feel like I loose a week of my life because of my period and that my symptoms have REALLY been interfering with my life. The doctor says "well you know what we usually do for this don't you", I have no clue....then she says "I'm gonna start you on birth control". So I've heard that people are put on the pill to help with period issues, and I trusted the doctor. I went in there expecting to maybe have some routine bloodwork run, a PAP smear/full exam done, and maybe a urine test...but they did none of that. I was never actually physically examined. I was put on sprintec (b/c it's cheap and was supposed to help with my moods). IT WAS HELL. I was on it for 6 months and I never had a regular period. I'd get 2 periods a month, some lasting 2 weeks at a time. I experienced severe abdominal cramping which on more than one occasion left me curled in a ball crying hysterically. It felt like someone was wringing my uterus out like a dishtowel. I've never experienced abdominal cramping that severe or intense in my life. I called the medical clinic and left a message for the clinic's gyno to call me back listing the problems I was having. I was told that what I was experiencing was normal and I should just "stick it out a couple months" until my "body gets used to the hormones in the pill". It never got better. I noticed that while on the pill I went from being a generally upbeat, fun, happy person who laughed all the time to someone who cried and got depressed over everything. I tried talking to the university gyno about it and was told it was all normal while my body was adjusting to the BC. After 6 months...I couldn't take it anymore and stopped taking the BC. I'm frustrated b/c I feel like the doctor didn't take me seriously. I know that my symptoms ARE NOT NORMAL....and I wouldn't have gone to the doctor over normal PMS...but my period is REALLY interfering with my everyday life. For a week each month I barely have the energy to get out of bed, I can't workout because of the back and leg pain, I go off on EVERYONE around me because I feel so bad physically....which makes me feel like a complete and utter bitch. I don't know what could be wrong. I don't know what kinds of tests I should ask for (when I had the flu....they tried to give me antibiotics for "food poisoning"....I demanded to have a rapid flu test...which came back positive....and the doc to said "well..I was wrong about the food poisoning...good thing you made me think to test you for the flu....these antibiotics wouldn't have helped you at all). What should I ask them to do? I know they should have done a "yearly" exam and maybe some bloodwork....I don't know what could be wrong. anyone been through symptoms like this?  more

Resolved Question: WHy the hell would my doctor advise me not to keep the baby ?

I just found out that i am expecting I haven't even gone to the doctor for my exam yet so when i tried to call for the exam appt the doctors nurse gave me a number and told me to schedule my appt there. So i called it and it was to an abortion clinic ? HELLO ???? I went on thursday for a pap and was really sensitive to touch and pain so my doctor gave me a prescription for birth control and when I went to pick it up they told me I had to wait 3 days for my labs to come back and make sure i wasn't pregnant well i didn't want to wait over the weekend to find out so i just took 4 at home ones all different brands n all said yes. So i wanted to get checked to see how far along i am but when i called this number my heart dropped and I just hung up could it be a harmless mistake I called the office back and she said i would have to wait til monday at 7 am for them to reopen it was friday night when i called. Now this whole weekend Ive been thinking and having terrible nightmares of abortion clinics and bad things happening.  more

Resolved Question: I may have hurt my unborn child?

I am successfully pregnant with my first child. I don't have a mother to help me through this so im just kinda learning as I go along. By reading books and talking to other women online. My Doctors office is terrible and is to busy to ever answer my insignificant questions. Im about six weeks pregnant and suffer from terrible cramps. My Doctor said its normal but I cant seem to stand it! So in one book I had it says to use a hot water bottle. Since I don't own one ive been using this sac filled with rice i bought from a stand in the mall. The woman said it was specifically for this purpose.I love hot tea and hot showers so you could imagine how hot i liked this pouch. My fiancee also a first time father has researched that it is terrible for the baby and may cause birth defects. Did anyone else ever make this mistake? I feel like a terrible mother already.  more

Resolved Question: UK Immigration Question: Spouse Visa / Entry Clearance Refusal : Referred to an Appeal Hearing?

As briefly as possible, here are further details: We have been married for 9 years and have a 7 yr old child. I am of Muslim (Pakistani) background. However, I am British by birth and have always lived only in this country. My husband is Sikh and from Punjab, India. My husband has been living in the UK since 1998 with a work permit and has always worked and declared his income and paid taxes/NI. Shortly after we got married in 2000, we applied for him to be given Indefinite Leave to Remain on the grounds that he was the spouse of a British citizen. No reply was ever received from the Home Office despite much chasing due to the Home Office backlog of ILR cases. My husband returned to India voluntarily in summer last year to apply for entry clearance from India and unfortunately, due to a clerical error on the settlement form, he was refused a entry clearance to UK as my spouse. The administrative error was that the solicitor ommitted to mention that my husband had 3 points on his licence (although information relating to this was provided in the accompanying file with supporting documents for the application). Everything else relating to the case was perfect - income, employment, property etc. We now have an appeal hearing in a few weeks' time and I am well aware that we will be told that I should be able to relocate to India with my family should the appeal be rejected. Obviously, we both have economic, social and family ties to the UK. My immediate family are also in the UK. There is the religious/cultural differences as well if I were to move to India. Above all, I don't wish to live in India as UK is the country of my birth, the country I am loyal to and the country where I feel I belong. I just wanted some ideas/suggestions as to how I could respond to/tackle this particular question. (Would I be able to take brief prompt notes into the hearing with me because I am more articulate on paper than I am orally!!) Any suggestions would be most gratefully received. It is vital that I get this right, as our family has been split apart for nearly 10 months and my young son is missing his father terribly. Thank you for your time. :o) Pauper Prince - thanks for taking the time to write such a detailed response...there is absolutely nothing unscrupulous about my husband! We have supplied police records both from UK and India to show he is a person of good character. We have always been informed that there is a vast backlog of cases to be dealt with and that the Home Office would address our application in due course. My husband returned voluntarily to India last September because his mother and paternal grandfather were both very ill and also because he was fed-up with waiting for the Home Office's response (who it seems prioritise asylum cases over marriage ones...) However, that is not the issue. The issue is that during the appeal hearing, I may be asked the question - why can I not relocate to India and live there with my husband and family instead of in the UK. What I wanted to know was, bearing in mind the details I have already provided, how can I tackle this question from the court? Damedale - I am so sorry to hear of your situation and hope that some day soon things will work out for you. However, it's not really the answer to my question.  more

Resolved Question: Paternity test and child support help?

I have a friend who lives in NJ and she has a problem. She is trying to apply for Welfare and she has a one year old son. But the welfare office is asking for the father's information in order to contact him for child support. Now the problem is that she doesnt kno if the man on the birth certificate is the baby's father or if another man that was involved is the baby's father. The guy on the birth certificate doesnt have any idea that he isnt the father but the other man knows the whole story. She was wondering could she give the information of the other man to the welfare office so that they can contact him even though he isnt the man on the birth certificate. Therefore there wouldnt be any problems. Plz help any advice would be appriciated. *plz no rude comments*  more

Resolved Question: what do you think of these lyrics? (if you've seen them before don't answer)?

Desire Chorus: Please stay close Close to me Don’t leave my side Just help me breathe Help me stay down this road Don’t leave me now just give me hope Verse 1 I don’t remember the last time I didn’t feel this way/ The kind of feeling you get/ When you wonder why you wake up each day/ It’s like you can see the future/ Cuz the same thing happens the exact same way/ Get up today, tomorrow, or yesterday/ It all happens in the same fashion/ Just wake up and follow the same actions/ Nothing ever changes/ There’s no excitement/ There’s no delight/ Might as well stay inside the house and avoid the light/ Cuz the darkness shows no real end/ And I wonder if I’ll ever exit out this tunnel I bet/ If I just tried a little bit harder/ I could get some enjoyment out of every hour/ Out of every minute that I spend each day/ But instead I lay around and just wither away/ I’m unsure what steps to take/ I’m by myself but I guess I made it that way/ I never wanted guidance, never wanted help/ Which is probably why I’m in such poor health/ Probably why I feel so poor and stress over wealth/ I wanna get out of this shelter and take on the world/ But every time I try it’s like I’m hurled/ Into a spiral with no escape/ My life seems like no give all take/ Verse 2 I got plenty of things to be happy for/ But I fear the day they ain’t there no more/ I don’t want nothing to be taken from me/ I got a taste of the power rap has over me/ But I’m still hungry/ For a chance to be more/ I know that I can be at the core/ But I’m just too lazy to bring it out/ The only thing that truly gives me focus/ Is when I got a mic in front of my mouth/ And the chance that I’ll never make it/ Makes me feel like **** and strips me naked/ I don’t wanna be just a normal person/ Walking around aimlessly in an office/ Sitting at a keyboard on top of a desk/ With this burning desire always in my chest/ I feel like I’ve walked a thousand miles/ And still I’ve made little or no progress/ I’ve got thoughts of limitless projects/ Hoping to be one of rap’s next prospects/ For the next big thing/ I’m gonna prove to the world to the table I can bring/ Every possible aspect of greatness/ But in the end I gotta say I truly hate this/ Hate the words that travel in my head/ When I hear a beat it’s all tangled in a web/ Ready to be put down on paper/ Though the bad outweighs the good my hope won’t waiver/ Verse 3 For the longest time I knew it was inside of me/ Flowing oceans of poetry/ I got a great relationship with words/ And I’m hoping soon that they’ll give birth/ To the one thing I’m desperately seeking/ But until I find it, it’ll continue wreaking/ Havoc on my brain, this terrible feeling/ That I’ve gotta suffer the exact same fate/ Go to school just be another horse at the gate/ Wanting to go this way but being forced that/ I’m standing somewhere unsure where I’m at/ I can only say that I’m floating in limbo/ Waking up every morning looking out my window/ Wondering what’s beyond my current position/ I’m so sick of doing nothing but wishing/ I don’t have the drive to succeed/ But I have the drive to get what I need/ Which unfortunately makes me feel numb/ What I need is the bare minimum/ Some food in my stomach/ And somewhere to sleep/ The wolf stalking me like a sheep/ And the wolf is a metaphor for the meek/ Hopefully destiny will take my hand and not ignore me/ If I get my chance let this be a warning/ By ILL PROOF © 2009 to a beat like eminem's beautiful real feedback is what i'm looking for. not just "sounds good." give me real feedback. people it's a rap. it LOOKS long, but it's really 16 bars (supposed to be 2 written lines per bar). raps are written longer than regular songs because there's no notes being held or anything like that. if you rap it like it's supposed to be then it really only ends up being about 45 seconds per verse and then add in 3 choruses and it'll end up being close to 4 minutes. thanks for comments though.  more

Resolved Question: Anyone familiar with high deductible health plans? My ob's office is messing with me, I think...?

I have a high deductible ($2,000) health plan. They pay for NOTHING until my deductible is met, and after that, everything is covered at 100%. So far, I'm almost to $1,600, and will probably meet the deductible at the latest, by mid-August. I got a letter in the mail today from my ob's office saying their fee for a vaginal birth is $2,950, and that they've contacted my insurance co. and know the guidelines/coverage/etc. They want me to pay $500 up front. What I find odd is that the vast majority of the money I've spent to date toward my deductible is to THEIR office, and I have records showing that I logged on to their payment portal and made my payments (for blood work, ultrasounds, pap smears, etc.) Why would they do this? They have obviously contacted my insurance company and they know my limits/coverages. Does this sound fishy to anyone else? Quite frankly, I don't have $166.67 (or whatever it is) to pay them for the next three months to meet this mysterious $500 fee I have to pay. It sounds to me like they're treating me like a cash paying patient, even though I have insurance and they know it. Is there anyone out there who knows about insurance plans like this, or who has experienced something similar? I figure worse case scenario, I mail them my first installment of $166.67, then I hit my deductible, then all the rest of my visits (including labor and delivery) are covered. Why would they ask for this? The office is closed, so I plan to call them first thing in the a.m. Anyone have any ideas?  more

Resolved Question: Am I really that bad of a person for being jealous?

Ok, let's start with the facts about me. I am married to the love of my life and I consider myself extremely lucky and grateful for my husband. We both work very hard in life and yet still have difficulties, as excepted. I consider use very lucky just for the fact that my husband has a full time job in Houston, especially for the field of work that he is in (he is an auto-cad draftsman, and right now there aren't any jobs) In order just to get the job he has right now, he had to start work under a temp. agency (his boss will only hire through temp. agencies so he can fire at will) the basic starting for no experience for his job is $28 an hour, but he had to start out at $16 an hour. After six months he was hired on full time (almost never heard of at his office unless you are a young unskilled, unless b*j*'s count, secretary) for $20 an hour, but frankly we are grateful just to have a paying job. His boss provides health care only to his employees and not their familys, unless you are a secretary, in that case you get extra health benefits and he covers all of their childrens and even one of theirs sisters!) We are living in a pile of debt, two student loans (I know they are so worth it considering how little he gets paid :( ) car payment and outrageous vehicle insurance of $225 a month, it is so high because he has a medical condition that occasionally makes him just fall asleep at any moment, and it happened at the wheel. (it happened for the first time after seven years of absence, but came back due to stress) Well, we barely get by and I am on a free birth control program. We would love more than anything to have children but we don't because I don't have health insurance and we can't afford to pay $500 a month just to insure me. I was told today that I was a pathetic asshole that should go fuck myself because I get jealous (and I have never acted upon it, the person who said this said they saw it when I watched a family purchase a cart of food with wic and then use their real money to buy another cart of food and had a baby with nikies shoes on, and I have to carefully plan out $80 to last two weeks) of ass kissers who seem to have everything in life and I get a angry with people who life off of handouts living life without a care, teenage girls who have children. It is a bit painful every time I take a birth control pill, as it is a reminder of what we can't have. Am I really all that bad for being jealous and angry?  more

Resolved Question: Anyone have an unassisted birth? Given a hard time when getting birth certificate?

Just wondering if anyone else had problems. I had a wonderful UC 4 months ago. I called the record office to have them send paperwork for the birth certificate. The lady asked what midwife delivered my son, so I said that I delivered him myself, and she huffed and puffed and was rude to me the rest of the call. Ugh, she was horrible. I am afraid of what she will be like when we come in to file the certificate. Anyone else have issues? Because I didn't want to stress over it in the early months. You don't have to do the certificate right away. The only down side is you have to provide the office with more proof of the birth... lots of paperwork. Yeah, I have Dr's who I can get paperwork from. It was a voluntary UC, so I think that is where the additude comes from. I am just worried about what kind of additudes/junk she will throw at me when I go in for filing.  more

Resolved Question: Question about non stress tests....please read!!!! (Kinda long...sorry)?

I am currently 32 weeks 6 days pregnant today. I have been doing non stress tests at my doc office since 31 weeks 6 days due to my high risk pregnancy. My daughter has Gastroschisis (intestines outside the body at birth) Anyway, on to my question. When I go to the NSTs I get hooked up to a monitor that measures contractions and one that watches my daughters heartbeat. Last week the nurse told me that the number on the screen that corresponds with the contractions shouldnt get too much higher than a 10 as long as they are braxton hicks contractions. Well today one of them shot up to the 30's, 2 of them were in the 40s and one got up to 57! Even tho they arent regular they still worry me. Anyone else that have done NSTs or not it doesnt matter.....just wondering what ya'll think of this. Thank you very much!  more

Resolved Question: Why am I still bleeding after Mirena insertion?

I had Mirena inserted about 2 months ago. I was 8 weeks out from the birth of my son. I have bled since insertion, but doctor said that was normal, and at my recheck about 3 weeks ago, he said he thought I would soon stop. I stopped bleeding last week, but noticed this weekend that I couldn't find my strings. When I called the doctor's office, the nurse said that was normal. She said the strings would soften and curl up around my cervix. Tonight I have started bleeding again and am having enough cramps to make me rather uncomfortable. Anyone else have experience with this? Would you be concerned? Nope-I'm not breastfeeding. I stopped about 3 weeks after insertion. Leslie- I had mine put in the week before you, so it's nice to know someone else is going through the same thing!  more

Resolved Question: Should educators be allowed to speak out against illegal aliens?

Why do people feel educators should not speak out against illegal aliens and the problems they cause in our schools? here are a few examples from youdontspeakforme.com _______________________________________________________ Miguel Cruz I am an American with Peruvian roots. I came to this country at the age of 9 with my mother, who raised 5 children on her own. I have a graduate degree in education and in my career, I have worked for both the INS and most recently for the Social Security Administration. The programs I administer are for monthly assistance and supplemental support for indigent families. I have confronted management in my own workplace about abuses in the system that I have witnessed. I know that there are U.S. codes of law that we are required to follow regarding aiding and abetting illegal immigrants. I also know that American families are at a fundamental disadvantage to apply for the same benefits that are given freely to illegal immigrants. Of course, to qualify for these social benefits applicants need to verify and show proof of income. For American families, their social security cards can give us the information we need. For illegal immigrants, we have to take their word for it ---literally. And, even though they cannot prove citizenship, or income, since we have no way of DIS-proving anything they choose to tell us, they are awarded benefits. The result is as simple as it is unfair. Illegal alien families receive assistance, while American families do not. It is an outrage. ____________________________________________________ Carmen Morales My name is Carmen Morales. I am a Puerto Rican, but an American first. I came to the United States at the age of 3 with my grandparents. I am the proud mother of 3 children and they are the main reason that I decided to get involved and speak out against illegal immigration. My husband, Joe Perez is a Vietnam veteran and retired after 40 years working with a printing company. I currently work with students in the Northeast U.S. The student body is predominantly Hispanic with some African American, and almost no Anglos. Every day I see children disappear and re-appear, not knowing whether they are dropping out, returning to their home countries, hiding from authorities or being deported. I am often asked to translate for bi-lingual teachers, who barely speak English, and teach their lessons in Spanish instead. I notice the children's books teach Mexican history of Pancho Villa, not America's own founding fathers, like George Washington. Every September, our school offices are jammed with families, mostly illegal. As I translated for these families to help their children enroll in school, I noticed a pattern of lies and deception. Mothers and fathers none of whom spoke English, seemed to forget important information such as proof of address, or even their child's birth date. They would frequently communicate with a third party on a cell phone who would tell them what to say. As a result of these waves of illegal immigrants, American children are being pushed out of their own schools; lost and confused in classrooms, cafeterias and playgrounds where Spanish is now the language of choice. I know this to be the case in my own school district and have seen it firsthand in the Plainville School District with 10 schools, all of them dangerously overcrowded grease - why do you always stray away from the question with some other ridiculous statement. Why should they not tell the truth when they see this daily as mickey said. What do you think of Mrs. Morales statement?  more
